This is episode, Criminal Justice Chris and I are going to be discussing Narcissistic Personality Disorders and other disorders in the NPD family. It is my opinion that we are currently in an epidemic of narcissism. From the lies of the mainstream media, government, medical, and educational propaganda AND social media, narcissistic abuse seems to be everywhere. Sadly, we have all been hurt by it in one way or another.
Today, Chris and I are going to be looking at the clinical definition of narcissism, possibilities of what causes it. We’re also going look at how it plays out in cultural influences like the Son of Sam Community and the murderous Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who is a little over a week away from being released from parole (a fact that has terrified thousands of people across the globe).
Narcissistic Personality Disorder can pose various dangers to both individuals affected and those around them. Some of the potential dangers include:
Strained Relationships: People with NPD often have difficulty maintaining healthy, empathic relationships, which can lead to conflicts, isolation, or broken relationships.
Emotional Exploitation: Their tendency to prioritize their own needs can result in exploiting others to achieve personal goals, causing emotional harm.
Lack of Empathy: Their limited ability to empathize can lead to insensitivity and disregard for other’s feelings and needs.
Vulnerability to Depression: Due to the severe mental abuse narcissist inflict on their victims, depression is common. And despite outward confidence, individuals with NPD may experience feelings of insecurity or shame, which can also lead to depression.
Manipulative Behavior: They many use manipulation or deceit to control situations or people to boost their self-esteem
Professional Consequences: NPD can impair teamwork, cooperation, and reliability in professional settings, potentially impacting other’s careers as well as their own.
Risk of Explosive Reactions: Their fragility to criticism can lead to anger, rage, or dramatic reactions which can be damaging or dangerous.
